Delphi and C++Builder
Lingobit Localizer localizes Delphi and C++Builder applications from the compiled EXE and DLL files, and translates .dfm form files.
Compiled applications
Localizer reads the forms (DFM resources), string resources, and other resources from the binary. Forms are shown in a visual editor, where you can move and resize controls; MainMenu and PopupMenu components open in the menu preview with their nested items. Select a menu item in the Translation Editor to see it in the preview. The preview does not run the code of the application, so items added at run time are not shown.
Create Localized Files writes localized copies of the binaries or resource-only modules. The default name of a resource-only module is $(SrcFileName).$(WinLang), for example MyApp.DEU for German (Germany) and MyApp.DE for German. The Delphi runtime loads such a module from the folder of the EXE by itself. See Output Options.
Form files
You can also add .dfm files (and .nfm, .rtm). Create Localized Files writes a translated copy for each language, for example ru-RU\MainForm.dfm.
Unicode
VCL supports Unicode strings in forms from version 6. Localizer detects whether a form uses Unicode strings; you can change the mode on the VCL > Unicode Support page. See VCL Unicode Support. If a translation contains characters that cannot be written in the selected encoding, Create Localized Files reports them, and the DFM is not written.
