Custom Format

For text files in a format Localizer does not know, define a parser with regular expressions. Three custom formats are available: Customizable > Custom Format 1, 2, and 3 on the Regular expression page of the properties.

Name

The name of the format.

Regular expression for key/values

A regular expression with marked subexpressions (in round brackets) that match the key and the value.

Regular expression for comments

The marked subexpression is replaced with spaces before parsing, for example to remove comments.

Index of marked subexpression for key

Which marked subexpression is the key. The other matches are the values to translate.

File:

Owner = Peter ;some comment
Company = Lingobit

Regular expression for key/values: ^([^=\r\n]*)=([^\r\n]*)$
Regular expression for comments: ^[^\r\n;]*;([^\r\n]*)$
Index of marked subexpression for key: 1

Result: the items Owner = Peter and Company = Lingobit.
